Marriages in Hollywood seem to come and go very quickly. So who are some of the longest married celebrities?

While Hollywood may be known for making marriages and breaking them overnight, there are some celebrity couples who have remained married for a long time. While I can’t vouch for the quality of these unions, if longevity is an indicator of a successful relationship the celebrity couples listed below are the champion marathoners of marriage.

10. Denzel and Pauletta Washington – married over 28 years

Denzel met Paula while making his first feature film Wilma in 1983. Denzel and Pauletta have four children named John (b. 1984), Katia (b. 1987), and twins Olivia and Malcolm (b. 1991).

9. Danny DeVito and Rhea Pearlman – married over 29 years

Danny and Rhea were famously paired as boyfriend and girlfriend on the hit television series Taxi. Married in 1982, Danny and Rhea have three children named Lucy (b. 1983), Grace (b. 1985) and Jacob (b. 1987).

8. Jay and Mavis Leno – married over 31 years

Jay and Mavis were married in 1980 and have no children by choice. Mavis Leno has been instrumental in bringing to light the fundamentalist and extreme beliefs of the Taliban in Afghanistan.

7. Phil Donahue and Marlo Thomas – married over 31 years

Phil and Marlo have no children together but Marlo is step-mom to Phil’s five children from a previous marriage.

6. Suzanne Somers and Alan Hamel – married over 34 years

Suzanne and Alan met on the set of a television game show called The Anniversary Game. Suzanne has one child from a previous marriage and Alan acts as her manager.

Ron married his high school girlfriend Cheryl in 1975 and together they have four children named Bryce (b. 1981), twins Jocelyn and Paige (b. 1985) and son Reed (b. 1987).

Richard and Paula performed together in a television series called He & She, and have two adult children named Ross and Prentiss.

Married in 1954, Kirk and Ann had two children together named Peter and Eric. (Eric died of an accidental drug overdose.) The actor Michael Douglas is Kirk’s son from a previous marriage. Kirk Douglas is an incredible 94 years young!
